I will be there all 3 days. I am coming from the Youngstown, OH area(NE). I will be on the pit side with a purple '84 Firebird.

My buddy Don and I blasted over at warp speed from NH yesterday.
Air quality started sucking ass and the fog/smoke over the highway from about NY was like a scene from Steven Kings "The Fog".
Get to the Norwalk Econolodge and the rude ass front desk clerk denied our 4 day reservation made with Expedia. It was a dirty hole anyway so we wound up booking into Bellevue 15 miles away. I was concerned we wouldn't be able to find anything last minute but the Bellevue is nice and clean so we're good now.
Some other guy came in behind us in Norwalk Econolodge and the desk clerk gave him the same denial. I was like WTF is up with that place.
Don talked to him while I was making a call to Expedia and he told me that his name was Kent and they were coming to the Nats all the way from Sweden!
I realized that when Don told me about his conversation as we were heading to Bellevue that he had actually been talking to Kenth from this forum!

The wife and I left San Diego last Saturday following Route 66. Currently in Columbus, expecting to arrive before noon Friday, camping out in our Chevy van on Wilson's Row. Driving down there Blue Ridge Parkway after the show and visiting family in Tennessee

Rolled in yesterday at about 9:00AM & stayed well past 5:00PM

I am blessed to be only about 13 miles from the track, so I didn't even have to get up early! I got to see a bunch of friends from all over the country I only get to see once or twice a year.

It was a great day, weather was nice & the smoke was barely noticeable. I won't be there today as I promised the Wife we would be at the "All Class" high school reunion today since we missed it the last two years, because it was scheduled on a weekend that we are at a Lloydfest Car show in Kentucky.

I hope to be back Sunday morning, but hope the weather holds out for you guys & gals as today is the "Big Day". A bit bummed that I won't get the G.P. judged, but I didn't build it for trophies so no biggie.

God Bless
Bill

Another event done. Got to meet Bill. A few new men names escape me now. We had fun. Nothing I needed to buy. Watching racing. Todd did well got Best Engineered Car for his 63 Lemans. Sunday we got suite passes. Watching racing eating ice cream. After about 4pm. Bobbie Badder comes in , out of breath. The elevator is BROKE! She wants us to go down. She is saying the elevator can go down, once no problem! Some us decided to walk down the steps in the stands!

Great To Finally Meet You Bob!

Time sure does fly, I'll bet we sat there for more than 2 hours "shooting the bull". After we split I watched about 15 minutes of racing, when I got back to my car there was a flyer on my seat with a note asking me to call about putting the G.P. in the Dayton Concours d'Elegance Sept. 20th. I will call him today, Laura got all excited about it. LOL

I had a great time both Friday & Sunday, even though most folks left late Saturday or early Sunday.

God Bless

Bill

Nice to hear some of the details. I live in Sandusky, & drive for R&L Carriers across the street. I seen quite a few nice Ponchos Friday morning & Friday evening while I was walking across the dock. It made me want to go Saturday, but I needed to use that time to get the Firebird up & runnin, so we can make the Trans Am Nats next month. Hopefully we'll get to Norwalk next year. 🤞
