I'm wondering if I can use a later model flywheel on my 1960 engine. I could compensate for the different ring gear tooth count by changing the starter drive or changing ring gear and the difference in register hole diameter could easily be overcome with a small adapter ring machined locally. My concerns are offset at the ring gear [for starter engagement] and bolt pattern. Anybody ever try this?
