I have a 1973 GTO. We pulled the stock 400 and totally redid it. The engine is back in. I have a set of Dynomax ceramic-coated headers that test-fit fine when the engine was outside of the car.

We could not get the car high enough (jackstands only) to snake the headers in. I'll have to tow it to a muffler shop and have them do the whole exhaust system.

QUESTION: I'm hearing from some people that I may have to remote-mount the oil filter becasue the headers won't mount past it once the engine is in. If that's the case, I'd have to tow the durned thing somewhere else and have that done, then back to the muffler shop.

Anyone ever have this happen? Again, it's a 73 GTO and Dynomax headers. Every muffler man I talk to won't commit to anthing but this answer:

"Bring it on in and we'll see if we can do it."

I'm going to attempt to post a pic with this post (never tried it before)
