I just put new brake pads on the front of my 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE. This year model has the 3400 & the automatic transaxle system in it along with some other things like back brakes that supposedly never need changing? I was told that all I had to do was put the car in reverse and then:
1. roll back, then slam the brake
2. roll back again and depress brake pedal slightly.

This will reset the back brakes which are supposedly lifetime or something like that???

Anywayz, I just changed the front brake pads and am trying to bleed the brake system, but someone (a non Pontiac owner) keeps telling me that I have to bleed the back brakes too. Is this true?

The dealership tech who replaced my pistons a couple of years ago said for me not to mess with the back brakes at all. Was this because I put in bosch plats at 30k miles while being dumb? or because I'm not supposed to touch the back brake system?
