I am posting this question here, because this forum seems to get the most traffic, and I would like as many responses as possible. My question is; what would be a realistic value for a 1968 Catalina convertable? I have located one that is completely original, including the paint. The body is perfectly straight, and the only flaws are two small rust holes in the 1/4's by the wheels. The car is SOLID, is equiped with the original 400 2brrl, and the interior is PERFECT, with the exception of the carpet being faded. This car is definately a survivor. Now, I could purchase this car for $6,800.00. Does this sound reasonable? I can do the bodywork and paint myself, but I dont know what this car would be worth in an honest 2.5 condition, after its been given a little love. I would plan on keeping the car for a while, but is there much demand for this car if I decide to sell? I cant remember the last time I saw a 68 Catalina on the road here in San Diego, much less one thats a convertable. I think its got a pretty good "cool" factor, for that reason alone. Also, what would it take to convert it to front disc brakes? All replies, advice, and info are appreciated. Thanks.
