I put a new gas tank and sending unit in my car last fall. Everything worked great except for it was not calibrated correctly. This spring I took ou the new sending unit and adjusted the float. All was well for awhile then the fuel guage would intermittenly stop working, go to empty as if it was grounded. Took out sending unit again and saw no obvious issues. Reinstalled and now it reads empty all the time, not just intermittently. If i remove the postive wire the guage goes to full. If i put it back it goes back to empty. Is there something on the sending unit that could ground causing this condition? I really do not want to buy another $75 sending unit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
