I have a 1997 grand am that won't start. Cranks, but won't fire. This was an intermitant problem, but now it is dead. Once the car would start, it would run without every quiting. But after it would sit over night, or all day, It would not start. I used my snap on mt2500, & it shows no codes. I do not appear to have any spark, but I am not thinking coil packs, because I thought those usually fail one at a time & cause more of a rough idle? (this is the 3.1 V6)

I can hear the fuel rails prime for two seconds, when I turn on the key. Could this be a crank sensor? Can anyone tell me a good way to test the sensor, or how to test the coils?

I am a little lost on this one.

Thanks, 68ragtop
