. Im in need of a good torque converter for my car. I have 73 GP with a 455 with edelbrock pontiac performer intake (#2156) performer RPM cam (#7157 specs are 231 in. and 240 exh. @ 050 / 303 in. and 320 ex advertised/ intake centerline @ 112.) headers and 750cfm q jet and 3.23 gears. I havent put the engine in the car yet, but from what I need, for hard positive launches, I will need a higher stall converter. Comp cams lists the same "basic" cam that I have, and says it needs a 2000 stall converter. Basically this car is street drivin fairly regularly. I would like to have a close to stock feeling with the new converter, but I need to be able to launch quickly. Im just looking for an all around good performer that would be well matched with my engine. I would rather stay away from custom builds...id like to go with off the shelf companies, like tci etc. THANKS!
