I recently had a engine built for my 69 GTO.
We used a 1974 400 block, 13 heads, and 068 cam. The engine was bored 30 over and new pistons, rings were put in. My problem is that the engine seems to turn over very hard and will crank very slowly. The battery will go dead if you crank more than about 30 seconds even with a battery charger hooked up and set on starting boost. The engine was run long enough to break in the cam and then driven home (about 5 miles). Will this engine loosen up when it is driven more or is something misaligned? The battery is 500+ cca but is only 1 year old, and I don't think it should go dead this quickly. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
