Hi all,

Just got back from the "Councours D'Elegance" car show in Cincinnati. I was very surprised to see (and finally meet) Scott Tiemann of Supercar Specialties. He brought the coolest car (I thought) of the show: a '63 SD 421 Tempest station wagon. I think he just finished the restoration for his customer who was also at the show.

Here's more info from the documentation that I saw:

421 Super Duty 405 HP
4-Speed Power Shift trans-axle
Hydraulic operated dry clutch
Heavy-duty axle shafts
Aluminum components: brake drums, hood, front fenders, grill surround, valence panel, radiator supports, radiator
Tri-toned bucket seat interior

Also on the info card: "Pontiac Motor Division produced 6 of these cars for A/FX drag racing before the corporate ban on racing in Feb. of '63. This is the only documented survivor at this time"

Towards the end of the show the show organizers wanted him to move the car so I got to hear it run. All I can is WOW!! It was the nastiest sounding engine I've ever heard (nasty = GOOD). Heads turned real quick with open headers!
