Hi all. I have a situation here and would like to compare notes. I just bought a '70 RAIII GTO, equipped with the rally gauges. The temp never reads over 100...in fact it reads below 100 whenever the ignition is on. Based on photos of restored cars, I seem to have a weird setup: There is a 3 pronged terminal sending unit installed on the passenger side of the intake where I normally see a vacuum "tree" on "correct" cars.-- The driver's side has a plug installed ( a sensor with the top broken off ). ---- Now, I don't really care what SIDE the sending unit is located on, and I don't care about a missing vacuum tree, but soething doesn't add up here.... I see where a new "rally gauge" sending unit ( not the idiot light type ) has just ONE terminal stud, if I'm not mistaken...but my engine/car aparrently stock wire harness has a 3 spade type terminal connector that snaps on the 3 prong sending unit. --- What do I do to make the temp gauge function? Is the wiring normal? Maybe I'm reading too far into this. BTW, the oil pressure gauge works normally. Thanks for any responses. Tom
