Good question, but I'm not sure if sumping the tank alone would work with some of the restrictive stock fuel lines I've seen? It still makes sense to let the hard launch situation force feed a rear mounted electric pump, then push the fuel forward to the regulator/carburetor.
Knowing what I know now, I would sump the tank first if I had a vehicle with fuel delivery issues on hard runs. No matter what I did to my fuel system AFTER the stock pick-up, it made very little difference. I had even removed the sock from the pick-up and modified it a bit further back in the tank, didn't work.....Cliff
