I have used a number of Summit Cam & Lifter Kits over the years in a variety of engines. I have noticed the K2801 has shown up in a lot of 455 buildups on this site.
Who has used this camshaft in a 400 and what were your thoughts on its performance? I ran this cam through Desktop Dyno with 6X heads (1.77 Ex) 9.25:1 compression with stock intake & exhaust manifolds. It made an impressive 300 HP @ 4500 and 400 TQ @ 3000 rpm. I realize this is considered by many to be a 'little' camshaft. However, this seems to be about all the camshaft I can use and still squeak by my California Smog Check. Anyone driving it on the street that could comment on its seat-of-the-pants feel??? Thanks...Robert |
