Tilster,

Can't help you much with the '70, but if you are woried about fit, why don't you go with a 245/55 R 15. the 245 is the width in mm so staying with the 245 will mean it isn't any wider. Going with the 55 (in lieu of the 60 you mentioned) series gives you essentially the same diameter (The 245/60-14 had an OD of 25.57, the 245/55-15 has an OD of 25.61") Incidently the 245/60-15 you mentioned would have a OD of 26.61".

This would give you the advantage of keeping your speedo reading essentially the same (read about .14% slow)
