Very easy fix requiring no special tools or heat.
Grab some metal stock, cut to about 20% bigger than the depth of the support mount area. Use your trusty vice, and bend the front and rear leading edge so you have a U shape that is a force fit into the bottom of the support. Drill a new hole in your patch, and tap it into the support. Make one for each mount hole. Once painted, and installed it is invisible. You could also epoxy it to the bottom of the support for added integrity Great fix for the driver, but obviously not the best choice in a frame off resto. |
