...and I've gotta say it sure is amazing what a simple bottle of glass cleaner can do to getting them looking nice again!

I was very impressed, I thought I'd have to replace everything because of its age, but there are no deep cracks, the reflection is still crisp...

However, they still have some milky "haze" at the bottom or around the weatherstrip edges of the glass, where the window channels were, and there are still a myriad of surface scratches. It's nothing you can see from far away, but in the sunlight it's pretty noticeable.

Like I said, it's good enough I feel it can be restored and cleaned up...and not needing all new glass.

What can I do to get the scratches out..I've heard of glass refinishing or repair kits that literally make it look new again.

Also, a friend of mine looked at them and said any polishing shop could just hit them with a special buff and the milky haze and surface scratches would be long gone?

Ideas??? Opinions? I need to know soon, the car's almost back home from the bodyshop (yay!) and that is probably the next thing I'll be doing. I could even put them back on as is but I'd like to go a step above and get them new-looking again.

Also...I'd like to have these tinted somewhat...only the front windshield is soft ray. What has anyone done on tinting their glass? I'm looking for something decent and gets the job done but doesn't look tacky.

Also, even my front windshield is in cosmetically good condition, just same story...needs the scratches taken out. Is it better to reuse the original or have it replaced? Someone was telling me that it will never have the lustre of a new windshield because those things over time took the brunt of road debris, getting a "sandblasted milky look"

And just out of curiousity, are the pieces that go behind the post on post cars for the back seat....are those post only car pieces? When I looked a little closer they have a stainless piece on them that look like they might be for a hardtop as well. Or was there a different set for hardtops and post cars?

Opinions on that?
