Well, another bad deal. This time from someone pretty well known. I have needed a decent 67 Dash bezel for a long time. Bought a few from people known here, but they were always (three of them) damaged in shipping even though packaged well. So, I contacted the guy in TX who does the dash bezel restorations, and he said that he'd do one using his own decent core, and cost would be $550.00 and shipping. Bt, he offered me $20.00 each for my bad cores. Now, shiping them alone is mor than that, so I never went for it and just kept my collection of damaged ones. WHen I was ready, I tried bidding on one he had on eBay but after $570.00 still no reserve was met so I know it was meant as an advertizment. I called him many times before he responded and was told He would sell me one using a good core he had in stock, with a two week turn around. COst this time was $575.00 and shipping. However, he wanted a damaged core for parts, so I sent one just to not have him keep asking about them. Cost of shipping was on me too. Well, after a month and no response as to why the bezel was two weeks late, I never got a single answered email, oor a returned call when leaving many messages. Now,m almost three months later, I got a return call from a woman (wife maybe) saying that they used the damaged core I sent them and it was so bad it took much longer. I told her that that was not the agreement, but for a nice one already in stock. Next, she said she had no idea what arrangment her husband and I had, but she knew my bad core was a really hard job. And, I'd be getting it late this month. That's sucks, and it's plain disshonest, and Bull $%^&. They casked my cashiers check in a normal amount of time. Never called to say they were changing their promise, and never were decent enough to respond to my emails, or calls for almost three months. But what really sucks, is I didn't want the really bad core used, other than for parts like he said it would be. Now, I paid $575.00 and shipping for something that was pretty much useless in the first place. And, not for the core he said he had and could get back to me in two weeks ready to install.

I'd advise you to be very careful when dealing with this person. Never believe what he says, and unless you have no other options, try finding someone else to do the work. I expect to get back a bunch of responses from him saying how everything was not as I stated. BUt, I have worked and bought parts from a fe others on here, and each one has been outstanding. This hobby, has become less enjoyable, because of people taking advantage of those in need of services, because they know it hard to get work done. I kept every email I have from him as well as mine sent. Every phone call not answered is documented with a detailed phone bill. However, what's really bad is I am so feeling like taking a trip to TX, and have a little alone time with this guy. People forget something. Never mistake kindness for weakness. And never, ever stick the screws to someone you do not know, or do not know what their history, special skills, or net worth is. Treat people decent, and this clown could have had the common courtsy to return a call, or answer an email. The bezel, better be show worthy, or he's got problems he can't even dream of. This is like the time I started giving a new home owner in my area a bad time because his dog never stayed home, and once time I got mouthy and said I'd usa a slin shot on it if it came in my yard again. He must of loved that dog, because unknown to me his youngest son was a real live member of the Secrete Service, and for the next year, my mail was always late, missing home loan payments that were mailed, and cars started getting stopped alot for no reason. Other odd things like credit reports not showing loans were paid off like prior reports had. So, I was stupid because I didn't know who I was getting pissed at me. Lesson learned.
