It is interesting to note that in a memo to the dealers, dated March 7, 1969, and I quote;

The revised Trans-Am Option is as follows:

2. .....
20. Color - Cameo White with Blue Stripes is the only color available
21 Trims - The only Trim Colors available are Parchment-Black-Blue

Officially the only colors that were supposed to be available were Parchment-Black-Blue as stated above.

I can neither confirm nor deny, but there are rumors that there were some oddball builds as stated in the Sept 2003 issue of HPP, page 41:

4 T/A's with Blue vinyl tops

As stated in GM Service Bulletin # 546321 sheet 2, page 35w-2.2 dated 2/24/69 that the correct color for the stripes on 1969 Trans Ams is Tyrol Blue, code. 867-98755 or Fisher wa-3680 code (NOTE: this is not a 1969 color but rather a 1967 color).

I used this information to choose the "correct" color to paint the stripes on my T/A. I compared the color to the original stripes and they appeared to be a perfect match.

I hope this clears up the stripe color arguement.

I try to interject my own opinion as little as possible. As a rule, I try to report what is written. Again I can neither confirm nor deny the accuracy of the written "facts". I just like to share the "facts" as I read them. But it almost always ends up in controversy.
