When listening to the radio, or anytime using electrical devices with the engine off, ALWAYS use the ACC key position. Having the key in the RUN position will keep power to the ignition coil, and that's true of Pertronix or a points system. With points, if the engine stops and the points are open, the coil draws no current, but ifit stops with the points closed, the coil will draw current and get hot.

Always use the ACC position and you won't have a problem either with points or Pertronix, or any other points-replacement module.
