Default Anybody go from a 3.23 to a 3.73?

I did some testing Sunday in my T/A and my friends '72 Camaro. We both have Gtec's, mine the older pro and his the newer one. We hooked them up and did some 0-60 runs. The newer one read about .3-.4 faster than the old one.

He found this industrial area with a new concrete 1/2 mile straight with no buildings or traffic yet.

Anyways I'll just give you numbers with the new one. This was really my first time driving the car since I put on SSM traction bars. What a difference, no wheel hop! We had a gallon jug of water and did an initial burn out.

My friend ran a 3.84 (his car ran 11.06 @ 125, 1.545 60', Skip, he wants to run ya). Then we got in the T/A, all runs with both guys 180 (me) & 230 lbs. My first run, lost traction and ran a 5.8 or so. Then I started to get the hang of it and launching at 3000 and eased off the clutch and into the gas 4.84. A couple more times and upping the rpm to 3400-3500 I ran a best 4.24 with virtually no wheel spin! Enough clutch wear for the day.

It was quite a rush at around 4000rpm, the clutch fully engaged, no slip and pulling really hard, a quick lift throttle shift to 2nd and 60mph.

My times getting closer to the Camaro, he had to do one final run to widen the gap between us. He did a nice burn out (tires smoking white), and dealt a crushing blow with a 3.54! He has some alot of wheel spin, but goes like heck.

All my pals and myself included say I need more gear. Some think 3.73-3.90-4.10. I've never had a car with over a 3.55 ('77 L82 Vette) and wonder if a 3.73 would be fine for around town and occasional 10-15 mile highway, or would it be miserable. I was holding out for a Tremec before making a gear change, but it looks like the TKO600 will have to wait.

What do you think the 3.73 would do to my 0-60 & 60' times?
