Get the "MSD ready to run pro billet" with vaccum advance. Tune it to suit out of the box with the provided curve kit by following very simple instructions. Plug it in to your existing coil. Fire it up and be happy. I have used HEI, Points, Mallory Unilite, Pertronix, and MSD Pro Billet without the vacuum, and each has it's merits, but the ready to run series simply cannot be beat. DO NOT buy a cheap HEI off the web. I have seen more than one for a bargain price, and when put to the test they work fine for minor off throttle driving, but when put on a dist machine the timing curves fell apart, and one billet model I recently bought actually went to 54 degrees total advance at 4500 rpm. NOT GOOD! The Pro Billet Ready To Run with V/A is the one to get. period. End of story. Others may argue, but I have them all sitting her the shelf as spares for a reason. The Pro Billet is the one I use and recommend to my friends. i wont sell them the others. I can tell you it will make you one happy camper. Vacuum advance can for street drivability is essentional. Helps with overheating too, as well as idle quality and starting. If you dont want to use it, you disconnect it.
