question on 6x heads

6x-4 head on the driver side between the #1&#3 spark plugs,beneath the n/d casting mark there is a threaded? plug in the head with what looks like a vacuum fitting on it . what is this,there seems to be no vac at the fitting! should it be taken out of the head and blocked off,or anything. what is the purpose of it?(drivers side head) thanks If I am not worrying about something,i will find somethin-LOL
