Not true. motor mounts are being made for this swap as are headers to fit f-body and a-body cars with the ls-x engines. The transtunnel will have to be opened up. It not as big a deal as some make it out to be. Year One offers complete LS1 engine and transmission mounting kits for '67-69 and '70-81 Camaros. The kits include engine mounts, a transmission crossmember, and transmission mount. Kits are available for both 4L60-E automatic transmissions or T-56 six-speed transmissions and for cars using the OEM steering or Fourth-Gen F-body rack-and-pinion conversions. These kits should also work with Firebirds.
