AM radio blows fuse

Can someone help me diagnose an electrical problem with my 71 Lemans Sport?
The radio works fine when the key is in the ON position. When I start the car it may stay on or immediately blow a fuse. If it stays on, I can drive a short distance (around a block or so) before the fuse blows.
Thanks to anyone. I posted this on a different forum and got now replies. This is my first shot at this.
