After the new transmission (Doug Nas 5 Speed), and now I have a line on a 2nd gen T/A
rear with a 3.08 posi I am thinking that the stock 350 is really
lame... I'm just wanting to have some fun while my other motor is being built. It doesn't have to last long either.

So for now I would love to enjoy a tad more power out of the good ole
350. I was thinking a 068 cam would be great, however I ran across the
summit dual pattern cam shafts and was wondering about them. I've read some decent reviews of them so I thought that I might give one of them a shot.

However one question still remains... how much lift can a 350 handle?
I'm worried about the valves hitting the deck or is that mostly on big
valve heads?

I'm really looking at the summit K2800 cam, I really wonder if I am
going to need to replace the valve springs? I most likely will have
to... If i do, Oh well, not a biggie, I've just never done them with the heads still on the motor.

The cam specs are as follows:
112 LSA
262 int/272exh duration
420int/442 exh lift

How is this going to sound at idle? pretty mild or will it have some lope to it?

The other choice would be the K2801 which has a bit more duration and lift. I know it would "sound" better but I have to be realistic as well... It's a stock motor with #17 heads, 1970 4bbl intake, random rebuilt Q-jet, and 4 tube headers....
