The exact thing happened to me. My speedometer had not been lubricated in 40 years and destroyed itself.
The fix was to install a new speedometer from a parts car. I got a used one, and sent it in to be calibrated, lubricated etc by Pete Serio. I should have one for you to use if you don't have an extra. Definitely a good time to replace lens, dash bezel etc. |
