I own a 71 TA that had original engine paint when I bought it years ago. I agree with 70RAIII with the exception of the wire loom. Mine had a pretty good paint coating.

I am not sure how they processed the painting on these engines. The intake was painted, but not on the bottom, so apparently it was installed. They must have used a mask to cover the heat stove. I agree with Bill in that the crossover shroud was silver. I don't think it was actually silver cad, just a cheap aluminized coating, but clear zinc is about the best way to reproduce it today.
