Default New carb

What would be the proper carb, or a good carb to put on my 74 GTO, 350 automatic, with an Edelbrock performer pontiac intake? It currently has a Holley - I would prefer to go back to a rochester Quadrajet. If a rochester quad is used should it be a 4MC, 4MV or what? Does anyone know what was original? Basically I want a carb that would still allow proper height for the shaker scoop. Any suggestions?
