Default Trying to ID a engine still in a car.

Ok. the engine code is YS.

there is a date code on the distributer pad. it is e285 (may 28 either 65 or 75?)

I did not see any casting numbers there in the distributer pad...just the date.

The machined flat tag place next to the date code was blank.

I do not know how many freeze plugs are on the motor yet. (2 means it is a 389 from 65 and 3 would make it a 400 from 75?)

I do not know how many motor mount holes there are yet.

the heads on the car are 46 heads and not factory for either of the ys engines. (65, 75).

I know that the casting number for the 389 is 9778789 but do not know where to look for it.

the casting number for the 75 400 should be either 481988 or 500557. it should be behind the number eight cylinder if I am not mistaken...I just can't see it with the motor still in the car.

anyway does anyone know what I am looking at as far as what type of motor this is?

I appreciate any help you guys can give me. Thanks!
