It's dynamic compression (DCR) that makes the difference, not just high levels of SCR by itself. In fact, SCR has little to do with DCR. I built an 11.25:1 SCR 327 SBC that only had 160 psi cranking compression and the DCR calculated out to only about 8.25:1 or so.
I know of one 8.80:1 Pontiac 400 with an XE 274 that makes an honest 380 HP...Robert |
