It's very simple really. Get the HEI off of a GM inline 6 engine. I pulled mine off of a 77 Nova in a junk yard.

Then you just need to swap the gear for a Toyota gear, and machine the "lip" off of the dizzy shaft so the shaft will engage the oil pump. Make up some kind hold down tab and you are done.

Do you have a cruiser? I have the distributor still.
