Brake Line Nuts

This may seem like a simple question for someone who knows but I have been searching the web for an hour trying to find the answer.

M10 x 1.0 nut VS. M10 x 1.0p nut
What does the p stand for ?

I'm thinking something to do with the thread size or pitch but not exactly sure what the difference is.
