A few months ago I picked up a 74 Formula 350/auto, cheap, but it was too rusty to restore. Nearly every piece of metal in the back was rusted out. So now I was on the hunt for a decent body. About a month ago I found a 75 Formula originally 400/auto but the Pontiac 400 had been replaced with an unwanted brand 350. It is mostly solid but very incomplete. Originally it was Stellar Blue (I think that is what paint code 29 is) with blue interior. I am not sure what color I will paint it maybe a red, I like that color and I have a red valance panel. Between the two cars and the 400/400 I have sitting around I should be able to build a pretty decent car. I am not looking to build a perfectly restored car but just something very nice to drive and have fun with.
Now some questions. I am confused as to what yoke I need for the th400. I see that some yokes are shorter and some are longer. What makes a difference as to witch yoke is needed, short tail, long tail, chevy, BOP, year or what?
The valance panel I got with the 74 is moulded in red but is not painted. Were they not painted from factory or do I have a replacement that never got painted?
Can I use a steering box from an 86 iroc since that should be a quick steer box? What other parts worth swiping from the 86 to put on the 75?
