This is my '63 Grand Prix.
Imported to Sweden in 2001 from California.

When I bought it in May '01 it didn't run that good. Two speeds were missing in the transmission and the engine overheated. The air condition was gone and had a lousy paintjob. But it was a bargain and had no rust so I did a low budget restoration with the goal of having a daily driver.

The original drivetrain is replaced with a '74 350" block with the original '63 heads and intake. I'm not sure where the carb comes from but it's a 2bbl Rochester.
Waterpump, power steering pump and fan comes out of a '66 and the original transmission is replaced by a '71 TH400 which is operated by a shifter taken out of a '65 GP.

I've added some scallops and pinstriping to the poor paintjob.

It aint the prettiest car around but it's mine and I have fun with it. I use it almost daily in the summertime (salty roads in the winter) and I drive it for approx. 10-15,000 miles/year.

I once raced (for fun) a '64 Mercury with a 390" and you can see in the link below how it turned out Dragracing in Lindesberg
