Hi Bill, I too wanted to keep the stockish height tires on my Year One 17's. I used 275/50/17 (27.8") on the rear and 255/50/17 (27.0") on the front. I posted a pic of my car and tires used in this thread.

The Falken tires are really nice and deliver excellent handling on dry roads. I haven't driven the car on wet roads with them, so I don't have first hand experience. I did read a lot of reviews on these tires and most people really like them.

Nitto also makes tires in these sizes and a few other manufacturers make the 255s, but not the 275's, if you wanted a more familiar brand.
