Default Throttle cable and bracket question

I have a 1965 GTO with a 428 out of a 1969 Grand Prix. The engine has Edelbrock Performer RPM Heads, a Performer Intake, and a Barry Grant Speed Demon 850 Carburetor, the carb will be replaced with an Edelbrock 800. The throttle cable has broke and the throttle bracket is not the right one, it does not bolt down properly. Will I need a cable for a 65 GTO and the bracket for the 67 to 70 since the engine is a 69? Or do I need the bracket for the 65 to 66 since the car is a 65? I figure the cable needs to match the car so it will attach to the accelerator pedal and the firewall properly.

If anyone has experience in this area I would appreciate some advice so I don't waste time and money buying the wrong items.

Thanks
