Default headlights on cause guages to go crazy

ANy idea as to why turning on the headlamps cause the temp and oil pressure gauges to peg out and the fuel gauge slowly goes to E.

turn them off and back to normal.

Low beams also went out but high beams work.

Found one bad ignition ground and redid it but dont see any more lose wires.

The previous owner did a hei conversion and the wiring isnt the best in the world, but all connections are good on the splices. I see a few misc wires with plastic clips on the end but nothing to plug them into.

Vintage air just did my car and Ive talked to them about the issue and can bring it back down to San Antonio to fix but would rather save some travel time and look for it myself.

They didnt splice into the factory harness at all and infact removed the factory AC harness as they use a self contained system.

Soooo does this sound like a bad ground when the headlights are turned on or ???

thanks
