Default Lots of issues to deal with..

OK:

I have had my GTO on the road for a little over a year. Before I did the motor swap, I used to drive this thing as my daily driver. Anyway, about two years ago my neutral safety switch went out, so I was having to put it in neutral to start it. Now, I am having to put the shifter in reverse to start it. I am guessing that this is caused by a worn out steering column(Maybe, Maybe not) I am getting intermittent no start issues, no power at all, where I can go out and wiggle the wires that go to the starter', and it starts fine, and all electrical works (I know, probably time to replace the engine harness). I am also getting intermittent radio cut out issues, which I think has something to do with the above stated power issue.

I am really not looking forward to replacing the engine harness, and the dash harness, but I do not see anyway around it. What could be causing the starting in reverse issue, I know the neutral safety switch probably has something to do with it, but I also think the original steering column may have something to do with it also.

Have any of you had this same problem with your 69'?

Also, where is the neutral safety switch, and what replacement wiring harnesses do you guys suggest?

Thanks for the reply's
