Default Pillar post seals 1968 GTO

ok i went to put on my new pillar post seals on my 1968 GTO.
The other ones were just shot years ago.
All i had when i took them off was trim and hard black rubber inside the seal
The car has just been rebuilt but what area do you think i forgot to take a picture.
i need a picture of the seals and the gap between the vent window and windscreen frame when the door is opened and closed . So i can work out the correct distance the the vent window and adjust backwards and the angle in .
Do i screw in the seal through the rubber seal - i dont think that would be right.
I gather it would be install the holding trim then push in the seal covering the screws.
