Andy

I have a '74 Ventura that I have been toying around with. It has basically the same build as you describe. I do have a 2500 stall torque converter in it though. I did a backyard overhaul on it about 4 years ago and put a Summit 2800 cam in it and liked the amount of pull it had. Being the knucklehead that I am, I never put any zinc additive in it, and ended up wearing a couple lobes smooth on it and had to replace it. So I opted with a Comp Cams XE262 this time. It definitely feels like it has a bit more top end to it, but the bottom end grunt does not feel quite as strong. I have been a bit afraid to really wind it up since I have stock rods in it though.

I know that Ace has done extensive work on the 350Ps, I think I would give strong consideration to his suggestion.

Hope that helps,
Derek
