I don't understand that either; it happens with all makes.

When gas hit $4 + / per gal. local dealer was taking in 6 month old trucks (all makes , decked out) for as little as 50 % of the bluebook. The buyer ended up carrying the loss on the loan for their new economy car.
Don't know why instead of losing $10-15k they wouldn't finance a $3,000 Focus, Neon, or whatever.
The dealer made out like a bandit when gas went back down as they had stocked up.
