lthen your best bet is a 65 and later block and better stil is a 400/428/455 block, supposedly only GP and Tempest blocks had the starter mounted on the block, Cats and Bonnies were still tranny mounted(?). And of course you know to stay away from the later 400's although they can safely handle 450 HP acccording to some pulp lit.

period correct would mean offy dual quad, cast valve covers and the like
