It's cold here often high 20's to low 30's at night, 50 during the day if we are lucky. Glad the car is in my basement, I can work on it anytime. Not much going on, one of the forum members send me a few sheets of 1500 grit and 3000 grit DA paper. It looks like the cut and buff will be hard. I have a difficult time getting rid of the previous scratch when going to a higher grit paper. I had sanded the orange peel with 1000 grit, then tried 1500DA followed by 3000 DA. The paint starts to shine after using the 3000 grit DA but close examination of the surface still shows lots of scratch. In any event I have not had much time to work on it. This is the first attempt at cut and buff, my previous paint jobs were not buffed. Christmas presents. My girlfriend gave me carpet. This is ACC super plush Essex carpet with mass back and jute already attached. Carpet is just slid into place so I could check for problems. ![]() This is really thick carpet. ![]() The black is the mass backing and jute is already attached. This is heavy carpet. This piece weighs about 30 LBS.
