Thank you for putting me in touch with your 67 GTO grill housing manufacturer. Steve (Ames) explained the problem with the last production run and is shipping me a hand inspected pair. I understand it is impossible for your staff to open and inspect every item that passes through PY. However, blatant flaws should be picked off at the production line and not identified by the end user. Steve (Ames) informed me that most of the production problems are blamed on the third shift. In this case the problem was mold pull or shrinkage during cooling. They are starting another production run with the original GM molds, but did not want me to wait, so he is shipping a pair they use for comparison purposes at his cost.
I'm glad that this problem could be resolved with a few e-mails, j-pegs,return shipping and a phone call. All-in-all, considering the number of parts shipped and/or picked up in Moultrie, PY has a great batting average with me.
