Default What's behind my '62 A/C assy?

I would like to clean up my engine bay by removing the stock A/C box and fan assy. I have no intention of getting my a/c operational and would rather convert back to just the oem heater assy only or put a block-off plate on the firewall and make up a custom heater with an aftermarket kit. Are the holes in the firewall the same for an a/c vs a non-a/c car? Anyone done anything like this? I would like to open my hood and have all focus just be on the 389 Tri-power, not the a/c assy. Thanks!
