Looking for some knowledge/advise on what oil pan to run in my boat. 455+.040, TRW's, ported 670's, Nunzi hyd cam.
I currently have a stock baffled pan and wish to increase the capacity and/or install an oil cooler. Rear sump, as the engine faces forward just like a car. I have ~2" of clearance below the stock pan now. What have you run in a boat in the past? now? What are the best options? Currently i am seeing 6000rpm=70mph but hoping to bring that down since i still run stock rods. The rods will be replaced this winter. I have entertained the thought of adding a sump to the stock pan myself but i am not sure how easy/beneficially that will be. I will replace the melling 60psi pump with an LPI pump/pickup when i have the motor apart next opportunity.
