The decklid is absolutely installed before the body goes through paint, so those bolts would get paint coverage just like the hinges and underside of the trunk lid itself. I was a little surprised to see the lock mechanism gets painted since those are usually installed in trim, after paint. Apparently that's not how Pontiac was set up and the mechanism was installed in body shop, prior to paint. K
