Dad's first pontiac was a 59 bonne tripower convertible that he bought new. He wouldve been 21 and was working 2-3 jobs to satisfy his car craving. Then, a 62 cat 389 which he just told me about last year. The 63 which he was kind enough to hold onto for me, and his last poncho was a 65gp 421ho. Said the 65 was problematic and had a taste for oil. From there he started selling cars owning olds and a buicks. He always liked fast but comfortable cars and in the late seventys thru 1990 owned a numbr of nissan z cars. He still has his 1990 twin turbo manual and i dont think it has 15k miles on it.
Lots of cool stories out here about our dads. Keith and ziggy come to mind.
Probably the best story i have about my dad was when i was 16. Told dad my 63 wasnt that fast, wouldnt spin the tires and top end around 90mph. He looked at me, laughed and said "push harder on that accelrator". Boy was he right. Had been driving on the center carb only for probably 3-4 months. Go figure. Progressive linkage. Tires didnt last long after that conversation.
