So I bought the TA thinking the motor was gone, and I picked up a cheap and rusty 73 Grand Prix with a running original 455 to throw in the TA, and then I got to looking at the "extra" motor and realized we had the original numbers 455 block sitting here the entire time.

So I didn't end up with a SD car, but having the numbers block is a good consolation prize.

I figure the SD that was in the car may have been an over the counter kind of a deal. He did have the car badged up as an SD car.
