He says he put it on an ebay auction around midnight, with a $5,000 by it now, and somebody in the lower 48 hit the buy it now within 20 minutes of him posting it. He crated the SD up and shipped it off. He thought in hindsight he could have got a lot more money for it, but what was done was done.
So I bought the TA thinking the motor was gone, and I picked up a cheap and rusty 73 Grand Prix with a running original 455 to throw in the TA, and then I got to looking at the "extra" motor and realized we had the original numbers 455 block sitting here the entire time.
So I didn't end up with a SD car, but having the numbers block is a good consolation prize.
I figure the SD that was in the car may have been an over the counter kind of a deal. He did have the car badged up as an SD car.
