I used a Mr Gasket cork pan gasket and it seems to hold fine. Properly torque the pan bolts to 12 foot lbs. Of course, check for dings and alignment, etc on both mating surfaces.

I can't recall who made the shaft seal I used as I ordered a rebuild kit from somewhere. Just go with a reputable seller and you should be fine.
